Thursday Morning Message

Good morning everyone! It’s Thursday, but it’s like a Friday because tomorrow is a Good Friday. There is no challenge today, so just spend some time working on finishing up this week's learning plan as best you can. I apologize in advance for the lengthy email, but there is some important information about how things will go moving forward that I want to communicate.
In our morning staff meeting yesterday we talked about some feedback that is coming from parents in our school and around our district, so I will be making a few changes on how I deliver things each week:
-I will continue to send out the Monday Morning email to parents and students (I will check in once later in the week by email as well)
-I will only send the daily emails to the student’s Zimbra emails (unless parents request the email to be sent to them still)
-I will be stopping the use of my blog starting next week. I will still update my journal on there for those that have been reading...
-I have updated the ‘Education Links’ tab on my website with websites I have sent out in learning plans, and will update with anything further that we use
-I will continue to post the Weekly Learning Plan and Daily Challenges/Assignments on my website, and Google Classroom. The information in both these places is the same, so please don’t feel the need to check all of them, just find the one that works the best for you.
-I will continue to update the agenda message on my website with suggested activities that could be done each day from the learning plan
-I will host a Zoom meeting every Tuesday and Thursday at 11:00 with the students so we can all check in with each other (these meetings will continue to be optional, students can attend as many as they like, when they want to)
***If you (parents only) would still like to receive the daily email from me, please respond back to this email indicating so***
I want to reiterate once again (sorry for repeating myself), please make sure that you do the best you can each week with the learning plan. I know everyone’s situation is different, so please understand that this is all I can expect from you. It would be great if you were able to finish everything, but please just do what you can, when you can. I am trying to focus on reading, writing, math, and physical health & wellness each week, as I feel these are important pieces to focus on during these times.
The daily challenges are not required, but just additional activities for those who have the time or the desire to do the daily activity.
Remember as well, I haven’t put any due dates out for a reason, so don’t worry about ‘getting things on time’ - there is no time frame for anything, so again, do the best you can. If you see a daily challenge that you are interested in doing, but don’t have time that day, by all means work on it another day (or another week), and share when you’re finished.
I am hoping as we start to settle in and get used to this, and - just like with anything new - hopefully we can all start to establish a routine and a system that works for each of us individually. I know I am still trying to find my groove with all the different parts of my day (I will say, setting up a routine and a schedule for each day has been a big help!).
I want to again thank you for all the work that you are doing at home! I know these are tough and challenging times for everyone, so just know that I am here to support you as best I can as we continue this new way of learning. Please make sure to email me with any comments, questions, concerns you may have. If there is anything I can do to help you with the learning plan or it’s delivery, please make sure to connect with me.
Lastly, the staff at BES worked together to create this video message for everyone - https://youtu.be/sHGtcthXgho - Enjoy!
Stay safe and stay healthy.
Thank You
