Classroom Technology Tools

Please find some information on a few web-based tools that we will be utilizing in our classroom this year.
  1. Google Classroom
    • Students can access our Google Classroom page anywhere through their GEDU account
      • Only students can access the classroom page, so parents/guardians will not have direct access to the page (they can only see it through their students account)
    • There is a classroom page for 8 subjects, plus one for any notices that go out
    • They can see assignment criteria and print off assignment pages
    • It is a great place to check for what we did on days that they have missed (each student also has a mailbox in the classroom where they can check for any missed assignments when they return)
    • Students can check the due dates for assignments
    • Students can check their “To Do” list to see what assignments are turned in or incomplete
    • Students can check grades and feedback on assignments
    • Students can communicate with their teacher outside of class time
    • Students can access resources and materials required for some assignments
  2. Classroom Blog
    • Blog can be accessed online at  https://mrallansclassbarriere.blogspot.com/
    • On this page you can find:
      • Information on what we are doing in class
      • Daily agenda messages (students will write in their agenda, but a great place to check at home)
      • Resources and website links
      • Other important information from Barriere Elementary

Happy Wednesday everyone! Today's challenge was inspired by my daily walk where I've been seeing some painted rocks along the pathway. I thought it would be a great idea for you to show some community spirit by creating some art that delivers a positive message for those who see it. What you choose to create is up to you. It could be rocks, posters, anything really, as long as people in your community can see it, it delivers that positive message, oh yea, and it takes some 'artistic ability' to create! You can watch the daily video for more information, as well as to see what I created for my community! Make sure to share what you've created with me as I'd love to see what you come up with. You can find an assignment created in Google Classroom in the Physical Education section (we don't have an art one...), or you can email it to me.
